Glimt

Photographs and other images from Swedish museums and archives, laid out through time.

They come from K-samsök, the Swedish National Heritage Board's shared catalogue of records from heritage institutions across Sweden.

• Type a topic to search for: Swedish works best, e.g. hamn (harbour). Or type a year to go to it.
• Drag or scroll to move through time (or use the arrow keys), or pick a point on the timeline at the bottom.
• Click or tap an image for its details and a link to the source record.
• Surprise me (or Enter or Space) picks a random topic and year.

Each image is shown under the licence its museum or archive gave it: public domain, CC0 or a Creative Commons licence. Images that are in copyright are left out. Click an image for its creator, licence and source, and follow the licence's terms if you reuse it.

This application was developed as a personal experiment. It is meant to be a fun way to explore the k-samsök image database. Created by Johan von Boer.
